What is Evidence receipt?

A list of results says what was found. A receipt says what the list is worth: which parts of the corpus were consulted and which were excluded, whether the evidence falls inside the freshness window that was asked for, how many independent origins support it, and which source classes — primary, official, secondary — are absent. It turns "here are some documents" into a statement an agent can act on and a reviewer can check.

Receipts matter most for assurance. Retained alongside the query that produced them, they let a reviewer replay what an agent was given and what it was told was missing, which is the record an audit of an AI system actually needs.

unlob returns a coverage receipt with every ground call. In the sovereign edition the receipt and the query event share an identifier and are retained inside the customer's boundary on the customer's policy.
